Ok! You have to know I’m actually kidding about tricking Google! Google is huge and they want to serve up the best content money can buy. Only a few months ago all you needed was really great text with the keywords in just the right places and frequency to get miraculous top rankings. And that’s all you needed . . . Well there is no doubt that the location and frequency of keywords is still critical. But that’s not all there is to it.

How Well Can You Write? Will Other Sites Want to Link to You?

Your content must be good enough to attract good, natural links, it doesn’t matter how “optimized” that content is until we get the links flowing to your site.
What I mean by links is that another blog, website, news, government or school decides your article is worth talking about and displaying a link to your site. This is the #1 most powerful Search Engine Optimization tool you have.

So your website that is less than a year old may have great content and keywords, But great content goes unnoticed without promotion.

Where do you Go to Get Your Site Linked?

The quickest way for an exceptional piece of content to get a lot of attention (that, in turn, results in secondary links) is to make the home page of the sites called Digg or Reddit. There are lots of similar niche sites that can drive quality traffic as well.

What about Linking To Other Sites?

Does it work to create links on your site to other relevant sites in your Niche? You bet it does Engaging in dialogue with the owners or staff of relevant content sites in your niche is a great way to get noticed, and it can lead to links back to you. You can bet that the owners of those sites will notice if you begin sharing their information too.

Become the Authority in Your Field

Now you must become the authority in your field producing content that people will want to share and talk about.
